Katherine Lou Robinson, the daughter of Homer and Grace (Cox) Reeves was born December 30, 1934, in Taylor County, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 5 days.

Katherine grew up in the Gravity and Bedford, Iowa area. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1953, and attended Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, Missouri. On January 23, 1955, Katherine was united in marriage to Jack E. Robinson in Bedford. They resided in Rapid City, South Dakota, where Jack was stationed in the Air Force, and Katherine also worked for the Air Force. In 1959, they made their home to Red Oak where Katherine worked for the Red Oak School District for 12 years. She then worked for 15 years in the Montgomery County Treasurer's Office. Katherine liked to stay busy and during her retirement, she went to work at Washington Elementary School. Katherine was also a dedicated election poll worker. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling with her husband, entertaining the grandchildren and going on outings with her neighbors and friends. Katherine was a member of the First Christian Church in Red Oak.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack on August 26, 2001; and an infant sister and brother.

Katherine is survived by her three children: Debbie (Larry) Hindman of Radcliffe, IA, Bryan Robinson of Council Bluffs, IA and Scott (Amy) Robinson of Atlantic, IA; four grandchildren: Stacey (Peter) James of Norwalk, IA, Jonathan Squires and companion, Courtney Pettinger of Hubbard, IA, Erik (Mackenzie) Robinson of Elkhorn, NE and Anthony (Annabel) Robinson of Omaha, NE; five great-grandchildren: Jazelle, Tavian and Jasarah Smith, Brooks Robinson and Finley Squires; other relatives and friends.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa

Visitation with the family on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Oak Community School District Lunch Program for those in need.
