Kathleen Ann Moore, the daughter of Elmer L. and Gladys M. Smay Moore, was born August 4, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. She died suddenly on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at her home in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 11 days. Kathleen was raised in Red Oak and in l960 graduated from Red Oak High School. She attended business school in Omaha, NE. Kathleen was a medical secretary most of her working career. She began her career in Lincoln, NE. Later, Kathleen went to work for Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, NE and worked there many years. In l988, she relocated back to Red Oak where she worked for Staments Law Office and Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Kathleen was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak. She had a ""green thumb"" and enjoyed gardening. Kathleen held a special place in her heart for animals and in the autumn cheered for Nebraska ""Big Red"" Football. She volunteered many hours with the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary working the information desk at the hospital. She enjoyed people and selling Avon products. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and nephew: Eric Moore. Kathleen is survived by her sister: Norma Jean Carlstedt and husband Paul of Emerson, Iowa; brother: Robert Moore of Corvallis, Oregon; 2 nephews, 3 nieces, a great-niece and 2 great-nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Kathleen was cremated and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev.
