Kathryn Ann Wigstone, the daughter of Ernest B. and Mabel H. (Eliason) Wigstone was born December 19, 1922 in Montgomery County, Iowa, near Stanton. She passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Accura Healthcare Center, Stanton, Iowa, the age of 98 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Kathryn was raised in Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1940. Following graduation, Kathryn attended and graduated from Jennie Edmundson Hospital Nursing School, Council Bluffs, Iowa, as a registered nurse. She began her lengthy R.N. career working for Dr. Fred Hansen in Red Oak, until his retirement. Kathryn then helped care for Dr. and Mrs. Hansen in their home. Kathryn loved playing the piano and even the organ in the old Mamrelund Lutheran Church. She was a strong willed, opinionated, and independent woman who spent her life taking care of others. Kathryn was a member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton where she sang in the choir for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Wigstone and special friend, Bill Harbor.

Kathryn is survived by special friends, Eric and Shelley Anderson, Tanner Anderson of Stanton, Iowa, and Lori and Jule McCuen, Logan McCuen and Morgan Jones of Villisca, Iowa; Kathy Marshall, Bill and Jayne Rogers, Bev McAlpin, and Mable McCuen.
