Kenneth Wayne Kinser, the son of L.E. (Lenny) and Ina (McKeane) Kinser was born August 5, 1935 at Iowa City, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Red Oak Healthcare Community, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 16 days.
Kenneth lived the majority of his life in Red Oak. He was united in marriage to Gloria Kay Briggs on October 20, 1953 in Red Oak, Iowa. Kenneth started in the work force setting pins for 25 cents apiece at the Red Oak Bowling Alley. Kenneth worked at Wilson Concrete and Briggs Sanitation, and later worked for Uniroyal, Red Oak Greenhouse, and retired from Traco. He enjoyed being a security guard for the Montgomery County Fair for many years. Kenneth was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Red Oak and loved kids so much he drove the church bus for children's activities. He later was affiliated with the Grace Baptist Church in Red Oak. Kenneth enjoyed being outdoors and taking care of and tending to his flowers and yard. Kenneth and Gloria were the first Iowa parents to adopt children from Seoul, Korea and were so proud of their kids. He and Gloria loved to park the car in the plaza and eat ice cream cones while watching people. He looked forward to being reunited with his wife and family in heaven.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parent; wife, Gloria on August 16, 2009; son, Nick Kinser; grandson, Travis Shearer; brothers, Richard Kinser and Raymond Kinser; sister, Joan Eyestone; mother and father-in-law, Ivan and Jeanette Briggs; brothers-in-law and their wives: Gene and Phyllis Briggs and Howard and Marybell Briggs; sister-in-law, Kathy Briggs; and brother-in-law, Bill Vanderhoof.
Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Lori (Lon) Lathrop of Red Oak, IA; grandson, Tyler (Kaylee) Shearer and step-grandsons: Chris Lathrop and A.J. (Em) Lathrop all of Red Oak, IA; great-grandchildren: Travis Shearer and Natalie Lathrop; brothers: Leonard Kinser of Omaha, NE and Mike Kinser of Kansas City, KS; sister, Deloris Brown of Corning, IA; brother-in-law, Arthur "Bud" Briggs of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law, Carolyn Vanderhoof of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
A memorial is being established in Kenneth's name.
