Obituary

Kevin Martin Kling, the son of Elder and Florence (Franzen) Kling was born September 9, 1951 at Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 29 days.

Kevin was raised in the Stennet and Stanton areas and attended Red Oak Schools. On December 31, 1972, Kevin was united in marriage to Nina Hultine in Red Oak, Iowa and to this union six children were born. Over the years, they made their home in Red Oak, Stanton and recently in Villisca, Iowa. Kevin worked various jobs in Red Oak, Villisca and Maryville, MO, most recently in construction. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, attending garage sales and being a jokester. Kevin loved his grandchildren dearly. He was their family taxi driver, making sure all the grandchildren were picked up or dropped off wherever needed. Kevin attended First Baptist Church in Clarinda, Iowa and was a past member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; 2-year-old daughter, Katie Louise and infant daughter, Dana Marie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doc and Millie Hultine; sister-in-law, Ginger Kling; brothers-in-law, Wayne and wife Sharon Grife, Dan Kutis and Dick Lucy and two nephews, Cade Kling and Rob Lucy.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nina Kling of Villisca, IA; children: Andrew "Andy" (Tabatha) Kling of Red Oak, IA; Roxana "Roxi" (Larry) Wooten of Maitland, MO; Meri Kling (Joey Bredberg) of Red Oak, IA; Kelsi (Edward) Lockerby of Villisca, IA; 8 grandchildren: Allyssa, Jackson, Sadi, Mayci, Bella, Lilli, Aubri and Tarah; brother, Stephen Kling of Red Oak, IA; and sister, Karen Osler of Malvern, IA; other relatives and friends.

Burial in Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, IA

Visitation with the family on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Villisca Food Pantry or Christ Cupboard Food Pantry in Red Oak.
