Obituary

Lanny Harold Nelson, the son of Leonard and Ruth (Danbom) Nelson was born February 24, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa. He passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 19 days.
Lanny lived his entire life in Red Oak. He graduated from Red Oak High School and worked with his father, Leonard Nelson at Leonard Nelson Construction. On April 9, 1977, Lanny was united in marriage to Patricia Munro at Red Oak, Iowa. Following his construction career, he helped manage Villa Village trailer court. Lanny enjoyed woodworking and watching WWF. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lanny is survived by his wife, Patricia of Red Oak, IA; son, Lynn Nelson of Omaha, NE; step-son, Todd Mullen of Corning, IA and step-daughter, Violet Walford and husband Jack of Red Oak, IA; 4 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 10:30 AM
at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak
Rev. Caryn Pedersen, Officiating
Visitation with the family will be held Monday, May 16 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home
Memorials may be directed to the Red Oak Fire & Rescue Association.
