Lawrence Donavon "Larry" Peterson, the son of Paul F. and Edna Myrtle (Sederburg) Peterson, was born January 4, 1941, in Red Oak, Iowa, the youngest of six children.  He passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Accura Healthcare, Stanton, Iowa, the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 25 days.

Larry was raised in the Stennett area. While in school, Larry was involved with 4-H and livestock projects, and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak. He graduated from Stennett High School in l958, and attended an electronics school, Radio Engineering Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. Larry moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and worked for the National Cash Register Company (NCR) to repair proof machines for banks, and this is where he met Martha. On March 23, 1973, Larry was united in marriage to Martha K. Wellons in Des Moines, Iowa. He continued with NCR for 10 years and then took a job with Kodak, where he repaired microfilm machines, film processors, copiers and blood analyzers. He was an avid photographer, too. In November of 1987, Kodak relocated him and Martha to the twin cities in Minnesota and later to Colorado and Sioux Falls, SD, before retiring in 2009, and moving to Red Oak, Iowa. Larry attended Faith Community Church in Red Oak.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Paul Allan Peterson, LeRoy Peterson and Carrol Peterson; and two sisters: Dorothy Lantz Honett and Helen Marie Pendgraft.

Larry is survived by his wife, Martha Peterson of Red Oak, IA; four children: Jean (Todd) Hathhorn of Omaha, NE, Julie (Jeremy) Pierce of Red Oak, IA, Paul (Sandy) Peterson of Elk River, MN, and Chaz Peterson of Richmond, VA; 8 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
At Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, Iowa. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Visitation with the family on Thursday evening, April 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak, IA
