Laura Fern Hayes, the daughter of George H. and Bernice M. (Gourley) Hayes was born February 7, 1945, in Creston, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the Griswold Care Center, Griswold, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 7 days.

Laura was raised in Red Oak and attended Red Oak High School. On June 19, 1965, Laura was united in marriage to Lloyd Orr in Red Oak, Iowa, where they lived. Laura and Lloyd moved to Margate, Florida for a few years before making their home back in Red Oak. Laura worked several years for Douglas & Lomas Company before dedicating over 15 years to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital's dietary department, from where she retired. Laura enjoyed creating arts and crafts projects, sewing, embroidering, and most importantly, was a fun and loving person.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cynthia Mayne; 4 brothers: Leroy, Kenneth, George Jr., and Warren; and 2 sisters Evelyn and Mary Margaret.

Laura is survived by her sons: Brian (Cindy) Orr of Red Oak, IA and Chris Orr and companion Tara of Kansas City, KS; 3 grandchildren: Andrew (Midori) Orr of Omaha, NE, Courtney Orr of Omaha, NE and Zachary Orr of Red Oak, IA; 3 sisters: Marilyn Westover of Red Oak, IA, Judy Wheeler of Red Oak, IA and Linda (Greg) Rodgers of Red Oak, IA; 5 brothers: Don Hayes of Indiantown, FL, Jerry Hayes of FL, Everett (Hazel) Hayes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Russell (Brenda) Hayes of Red Oak, IA and Robert (Dottie) Hayes of AZ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Private Family Memorial Graveside Service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA
