Leota Mae Garrison, the daughter of Archie and Enid (Conley) Echternach was born January 19, 1933 at Lewis, Iowa. She passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Morningside Rehab & Care Center, Ida Grove, Iowa at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Leota was raised in the Stennett area and graduated from high school at Stennett. The family then moved to a farm south of Red Oak. Leota was united in marriage to Charles Dean Garrison on August 20, 1955 at Red Oak, Iowa. In 1957, they moved to Galesburg, Illinois and in 1977 to Malvern, Iowa. Charles and Leota made Red Oak their home in 1992. Leota moved to Ida Grove in 2003 to be close to her son and daughter-in-law. Leota had worked in the dietary department with care centers.

Leota was preceded in death by parents; husband, Charles on November 16, 1993; son, Gregory Garrison on February 18, 2008; 3 brothers: Lavern, Dale and Elmer; sister, Glendora Pool.

Leota is survived by a granddaughter, Samantha Jo Falknor and husband Oliver of Council Bluffs, IA; grandson, Eric Florent of Mascouche, Quebec Canada; step-grandson, Brycen Falknor; great-grandson, Keagan James Falknor; daughter-in-law, Francine Garrison of Ida Grove, IA; brother, Wayne Echternach of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews and friends.
