Obituary

Lester Bicking, the son of Henry and Julia Epplesheimer Bicking was born February 24, 1922 in Noble Township, Iowa. He passed away December 5, 2009 at a hospice in Mesa, AZ, at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 11 days. Lester was the youngest in his family. He grew up on the farm that his grandfather divided among his sons. Lester worked for the Burlington Railroad in Red Oak, IA. He also worked as a mechanic for McAlpin Motor Company in Red Oak. Lester loved working on and restoring his 1950 John Deere tractor. He resided in Cedar Creek, NE in the summer and Gold Canyon, AZ in the winter. Lester was married to Edna Nadine Messner in Red Oak, IA. Nadine passed away after 20 years of marriage on January 26, 1979 in Omaha, NE. Lester remarried Betty Lee in Omaha, NE on April 11, 1981. Lester is survived by wife: Betty Bicking of Cedar Creek, NE; step sons: Barry Lee of Pawnee City, NE; James Lee of Papillion, NE; Ronald Lee of Pawnee City, NE; and Norman Lee of Council Bluffs, IA; along with other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
