Linnea Cecilia Peterson, the daughter of Carl and Cecilia Jonson Fahlen, was born along with her twin brother on July 3, 1912 in Stanton, Iowa. She passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 26 days. Linnea was raised near Stanton, Iowa. As a young adult she lived in the Nyman community. Linnea was united to Paul R. Oakleaf on December 21, 1935 at Stanton, Iowa, he died on February 25, l956. Linnea was later united in marriage to Lawrence C. Peterson on December 14, 1957 in Red Oak, Iowa. Linnea and Lawrence made their home on their farm in the Nyman community until 1970, at which time they moved into Red Oak. Linnea worked for Union Carbide Battery Company until retirement. Following retirement from Union Carbide, Linnea waitressed at the Red Lion Restaurant. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak. Linnea was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; Paul R. Oaklead and Lawrence on August 27, 1997; twin brother Leonard Fahlen and brother Swan Fahlen. Linnea is survived by relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
