Obituary

Lloyd Roy Orr, the son of Lawrence and Gladys Dunn Orr was born December 30, 1946 in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 62 years and 18 days.

Lloyd's youth was spent living in Red Oak, but for three of those years, he lived in Corning, Iowa. Lloyd was a Red Oak High School graduate. Lloyd was united in marriage to Laura Fern Hayes on June 19, 1965 in Red Oak and to this union two sons were born. The family moved to Margate, Florida in 1973, and after one year, returned to Red Oak. In 1974, Lloyd began his 34 year career with the Uniroyal Company, now Parker-Hannifan, at which time he was currently managing the testing lab. On June 1, 1995, Lloyd was united in marriage to Linda Sue Van Norstrand in Villisca, Iowa. He enjoyed nature, canoeing on the river, camping with his friends, and loved barbequing, especially for his grandkids. Lloyd was an avid football fan, rooting on the Iowa Hawkeyes and playing fantasy football. He also enjoyed music and NASCAR. Lloyd was always working on a home project during his spare time. He was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge Aerie 2715.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Orr; brother, Larry Orr; sister, Linda Hanscom; and wife, Linda Orr on May 28, 2005.

Lloyd is survived by two sons: Brian Orr and wife Cindy of Red Oak, IA; and Chris Orr and companion Jessica of Kansas City, KS; step-son, Trevin Schall and wife Liz of San Diego, CA; mother, Gladys Bridges and husband Keith of Red Oak, IA; and companion, Laura Hayes of Red Oak, IA; 4 grandchildren: Andrew Orr, Courtney Orr, Zachary Orr, and Tallulah Hanson; brothers: Michael Hanscom of Creston, IA; and Russell Orr of Lincoln, NE; sister, Kathy Orr of Nebraska City, NE; step-mother, Joanne Orr of Nebraska City, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m.
at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak
Inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak
