Obituary

Mildred Lorraine Larson, the daughter of Henry and Mildred (Erickson) Peterson was born February 27, 1923 at Stanton, Iowa. She passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Lorraine lived her entire life in Stanton. She was the last surviving graduating member of the Stanton High School class of 1941. Lorraine was united in marriage to Glenn H. Larson on June 1, 1941 at Stanton. Over the years, she worked together with her husband on the farm, along with working at the Murphy Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Three Crowns Café and for 10 years at Stanton Care Center. Lorraine was a great cook and enjoyed playing cards and sewing. She was a member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Lorraine was a member of the Neighborhood Club, American Legion Ernie Johnson Post #406 Auxiliary and the Stanton Senior Center.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn on October 21, 1998; son, Randall D. Larson and daughter, Carolyn Jean Larson.

Lorraine is survived by two sons: John (Lynn) Larson of Stanton, IA and Norman Larson of Stanton, IA; daughter-in-law, Pat Menendez of Kansas City, MO; 5 grandchildren: Ryan (Trisha) Larson, Carrie (Barry) Koelker, Angela (Tony) Babe, Sarah Larson and Leda Larson; and 8 great-grandchildren: Creighton, Colin, Emerson, Hadley, Avery, Randy, Easton and Addison; other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m.
