Obituary

Louise Vivian Hallquist, the daughter of Melvin and Ellen Johnson Lefgren was born April 8, 1919 near Nyman in Page County, Iowa. She died on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Stanton Care Center, Stanton, Iowa at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 3 days. As a child growing up, Louise and her family lived near Nyman, Iowa and then relocated to Boulder, Colorado. The family moved back to the Nyman area, where Louise attended and graduated from Coburg High School, Coburg, Iowa. After graduation, Louise attended Jr. College, earning her teaching certificate. On June 15, 1941, Louise married Chester E. Hallquist in Nyman, Iowa and to this union 3 sons were born. They made their home on a farm, eventually moving into Red Oak. Louise worked at Smith Jewelry and Hewitt Office Supply. In July of 2006, Louise made her home at Stanton Care Center, Stanton, Iowa. Louise was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Red Oak. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Hallquist on February 7, 1990; infant son, Terry Dee Hallquist; and brother, Ellis Lefgren. Louise is survived by son, Daryl Hallquist of Manhattan, MT and wife, Lynn Hallquist of Anchorage, AK; and son, Derry Hallquist and wife, Diane of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren: Aron Hallquist and companion Lilly Hanna, Ane Hallquist and companion Darren Young, Traci Beitz and husband Jonathan Beitz, Megan Hallquist and Tyler Hallquist; 6 great grandchildren: Lance Zepeda, Alex Zepeda, Alekzander Beitz, Mikhail Beitz, Claiborne Beitz, and Truitt Beitz; other relatives and a host of friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. At Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Dr. George Hooper, Officiating Visitation with the family present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home on Monday, July 16 from 7:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Sellergren Lindell DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
