Madge Eleanor Hasley, the daughter of Leonard and Goldie (Kring) Gelder was born February 20, 1923 at Boxholm, Iowa. She passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Senior Care Health Rehabilitation Center, Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 17 days. Madge grew up at Boxholm, graduated from Boxholm High School, and attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Following graduation at AIB, she began working as a bank secretary in Des Moines. Madge was united in marriage to Marion F. Hasley on April 2, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. After making their home in Red Oak in 1963, Madge put her secretarial skills to work for several businesses. In 1976, Madge and Marion moved to Bull Shoals, Arkansas until his passing in 1991, when Madge moved back to Red Oak. In 2007, she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to be near her daughter. Madge loved to play Scrabble and was a relentless player. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years. Madge was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marion on July 15, 1991. Madge is survived by three daughters: Marcia Stanley and husband Bob of Norfolk, NE; Annette Scott and husband Delbert of Wichita Falls, TX; and Angela Jervis of Lander, WY; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lori Johnson of Des Moines, IA; other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Fred Pilecki, Officiating Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, November 12 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
