Margaret Mary Hayes, the daughter of Luther and Ava Gemmill Mattson was born September 27, 1929 in Genoa, Nebraska. She passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 17 days. Margaret was raised in Stanton, Iowa where she also, attended school. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Hayes on December 10, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. Kenneth and Margaret made their home and raised their family in Red Oak. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She was a collector and enjoyed collecting several glass items, such as angels, elephants and cats. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on May 19, 1985; and brother, Carl Mattson. Margaret is survived by her sons: Randy Hendrickson of Villisca, IA; and Kenneth Dean Hayes and wife Kathy of Altoona, IA; 6 grandchildren: Amber Sawhill, Andrea Hayes, Allicyn Hayes, Jennifer Mosher, Zach Hayes and Mallory Hayes; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Lola Yeager and husband Norman of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery Dr. William Artherholt, Officiating Visitation with the family present on Sunday afternoon, August 17th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Family request memorials in lieu of flowers.
