Obituary

Margie Mary Blecher, the daughter of Everett and Anna Goin Wilmont was born June 23, 1919 in Albion, Nebraska. She passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 21 days. Margie was raised in Albion, Nebraska and had normal training to start teaching. Margie was united in marriage to Howard V. Blecher on February 1, 1939 in Albion, NE. To this union two children were born. She taught country school and later taught in Newman Grove, NE. Howard passed away in 1965. Margie continued her education and graduated from Dana College in June of 1968 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. In 1969, Margie began teaching 5th grade in Essex, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Carmit Anderson on October 26, 1975 in Essex, and that year they made their home in Red Oak. Margie continued to teach in Essex until retirement in 1981. She was awarded the Outstanding Teacher of the Year in l973. Margie was a great bridge player and enjoyed knitting and quilting. She loved the outdoors and would go camping anytime she could. She was an avid reader and loved children, especially her great-grandchildren. Margie and Carmit spent 18 years wintering in Arizona and Texas. She was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church and also attended Hope for Life Church. Margie was a member of Order of Eastern Star at Shenandoah, Iowa. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Blecher on October 11, 1965; husband, Carmit; three brothers: Otis, Owen and Duane; an infant sister, Ruby; and son-in-law, Jerry Sandin. Margie is survived by two children: Judy Sandin of rural Red Oak, IA; and Roger Blecher and wife Judy of Lake Oswego, OR; five grandchildren: Jason Sandin and wife Trevi; Jeff Sandin and wife Michelle; Jalene Gutierrez and husband David; Kirsten Jenkins; and Justin Lomax and wife Mikiko; 9 great-grandchildren: Brinley and Brody Sandin, Allie and Leah Sandin, Ashlyn and Taryn Gutierrez, Paul and Ava Lomax, and Christine Lundgren; sister, Shirley Meis and husband Jim of Elgin, NE; sisters-in-law: Otty Wilmont, Dorothy Wilmont and Marjorie Wilmont; nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Celebration of Life Service Friday, November 16, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church Rev. Caryn Pedersen, Officiating Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Newman Grove, NE. Memorials to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church or American Cancer Society. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
