Gladys Marie Mitchell, the daughter of Andrew and Sally (Reese) Borza, was born December 16, 1936, at Washington D.C. She passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Iowa, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 11 days.

Marie was raised in Washington D.C. where she graduated high school and then attended secretarial school. Marie was united in marriage to Joseph C. Mitchell, Sr., in Washington D.C. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia, before moving to Omaha, Nebraska, in l974, where she worked for First Data in Omaha. In 1996, Marie moved to Red Oak and worked at CDS. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, knitting and crocheting.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph on December 18, 1993, and daughter, Kellee Bowman.

Marie is survived by three children: Joseph (Jan) Mitchell of Omaha, NE, Daniel Mitchell and significant other, Sherry of Afton, IA, and Laura (Brent) Schrader of Stanton, IA; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Ron (Cindy) Borza of Walford, MD and Bill (Nancy) Borza of Wilmington, NC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
