Obituary

Marilyn Ruth Lindner, the daughter of Harold E. and Dorothy Briggs Kennedy was born November 14, 1927 in Holt County, Nebraska. She died on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 6 days. Marilyn was raised in Nebraska, where in 1945, she graduated from Wheeler County High School. She attended Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing, Lincoln, Nebraska, graduating in l948. Marilyn was united in marriage to Dale F. Lindner on February 22, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. They moved to their farm south of Stanton in 1955, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Marilyn's career as a licensed Registered Nurse spanned over 50 years. From 1969 to 1996, she worked at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak. Marilyn was a member of Faith Community Church in Red Oak. She had also attended Community Bible Study, Southwest Iowa Class, Red Oak. Marilyn enjoyed crocheting for family, friends and even those lucky enough to win her 'snowflakes' that she had donated for various fundraisers. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale on July 10, 2000; daughter, Sally; son, Scott; and brother, Victor Kennedy. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Helen Petto and husband Jim of Omaha, NE; son, Dirk Lindner of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren: Elizabeth, Samuel and John Petto; brother, Peter Vaughn and wife Pam of Omaha, NE; sisters-in-law: Lorraine Kennedy of Houston, TX; and Kay Lindner of Cypress, CA; other relatives and a host of friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Community Church, Red Oak, Iowa Burial in Mission Covenant Cemetery, Stanton, Iowa Dr. William Artherholt, Officiating Visitation with the family present, one hour prior to the service, on Wednesday, May 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church Memorials to Faith Community Church or Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Foundation Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
