Marvin Hayes, the son of William and Bernice (Haidsiak) Hayes was born January 28, 1944, at Tulare, California. He passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Veterans Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Marvin was raised in Fresno, California, and entered the U.S. Army on February 23, 1967. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1969. He moved to Red Oak, Iowa, in l972. Marvin was an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed woodworking, building and fixing all that was needed when asked. Marvin always made people laugh and was a friend to all who knew him. Marvin was united in marriage to Bonnie J. Anderson on June 26, 1993, in Red Oak, Iowa. They loved the company of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hayes of Red Oak, IA: step-children: Terry Coddington of Onawa, IA, Bob Coddington of Red Oak, IA and Tammy Ronfeldt of Red Oak, IA; step-grandchildren: Hannah Sederburg, Daize Pontow, Ben Coddington, Cody Coddington, Dana Coddington, Zackery Coddington, Steven Ronfeldt, Tyler Coddington, Teanna Coddington and Zoey Ronfeldt; 8 step-great-grandchildren; and niece, Doris Farley of Ozark, Arkansas; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
At Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak.

Viewing and Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to service time at 11:00 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
