Marvin Leon Sorensen, the son of Walter and Ruby Warnaca Sorensen was born August 21, 1933 in Page County, Iowa. He died suddenly on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at his home in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 73 years and 10 months. Marvin was raised on a farm in the Essex area. His first job was for the Chevrolet dealer in Red Oak. He was united in marriage to Ella Mae Binns. Marvin later worked twenty years for the Railroad, along with farming near the Stanton area. Marvin was later united in marriage to Bonnie Coddington. In 1995, Marvin moved to Red Oak where he operated a tree service business. Marvin was currently companions with Mary Holloway. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Merle. Marvin is survived by companion: Mary Holloway of Red Oak, IA; son: Steve Sorensen of Ft. Dodge, IA; daughters: Debra Hoots of Coulter, IA; Nancy Claybaugh of Eagle Grove, IA; and Barbara Sorensen of Des Moines, IA; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: Melvin Sorensen and wife Darlene of Mead, NE and Mahlon Sorensen and wife Kathy of Clarinda, IA; several step-children, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
