Mary Ethel Griffeth, the daughter of Ephrian and Eva (Whitney) Foreman was born December 29, 1937 at Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 4 days.

Mary was raised in Red Oak. On November 12, 1955, Mary was united in marriage to James W. Griffeth in Red Oak. She devoted 23 years to the Red Oak Community School District, serving as a cook. Mary enjoyed reading, working word puzzles, making crafts and gardening. She especially loved to travel and take family vacations.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Griffeth on March 22, 2004; and a granddaughter, Ashley Renee Fekete.

Mary is survived by her two children: Thomas Griffeth and wife Beth of Red Oak, IA; and Laurel Fekete and husband Erwin of Mount Ayr, IA; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Foreman of Clarksville, AR; and sister, Norma Tichy of Red Oak, IA; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA
Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery just prior the service.
