Mary Lou Howard, the daughter of Edison and Florence Rogers Herron was born July 22, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska. She passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Red Oak Rehab & Care Center, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 2 days. Mary was raised in Johnstown, Nebraska. As an adult she had lived in California, Council Bluffs, Shenandoah and in the 1980's made her home in Red Oak. Mary was united in marriage to Albert Howard on June 17, 1988 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Darwin Merritt Post 2265 and Red Oak Eagles Auxiliary. Mary was preceded in death by her father; step-daughter, Aldena Shaw Bredberg; and brothers: Curtis and John Herron. Mary is survived by her husband, Albert Howard of Red Oak, IA; mother, Florence Herron of Shenandoah, IA; five sisters: Betty Reynolds of Santee Sioux, NE; Mae Bain of Farragut, IA; Myrna Hayes of Shenandoah, IA; Maxine Cook of Rapid City, SD; and Marie Wobeg of Cody, NE; two brothers: Clarence Herron of Crescent, IA and Carl Herron of TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Red Oak Rev.
