Merrill Wayne "Bud" Erickson, the son of Edward "Bill" and Myrtle Falk Erickson was born December 19, 1922 in Hartington, Nebraska. He passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 29 days. Bud was raised on a farm north of Red Oak. He helped his father with their farming operation until 1967, when the family moved into Red Oak. Bud was always willing to help his neighbors, and was known for giving great shoeshines. Bud was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nadene Erickson. Bud is survived by daughter, Julie Fall and husband Mike of Anamosa, IA; grandsons: Jeremy Fall, and Josh Fall and wife Brittany; great-grandson, Drew Fall; and cousins, along with other relatives and friends.
