Obituary

Michael Lynn Fine, the son of Kenneth and Jean (Stephens) Fine was born October 8, 1957, in Maryville, Missouri. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 64 years, 1 month and 25 days.

When Mike was a young boy, the family moved to Red Oak. He graduated with the Red Oak High School class of 1976, and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, during this time he became a Senior Life Saver for swimming. Mike then began a lengthy career as a parts person in the automotive field. On March 10, 1979, Mike was united in marriage to Monica Gillespie at the Stratton Methodist Church. Mike worked for NAPA in Red Oak and also managed the NAPA store in Hamburg, Iowa. He then worked at R.K. Belt & Son and CARQUEST. For the past 10 years, Mike worked for Red Oak Fabrication. Mike was active in youth rodeo and loved taking care of horses. He was involved in Boy Scouts, receiving the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and watching football on TV. Mike and Monica loved to travel and vacation to warm beach locations.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; mother, Jean and stepfather, Russell Snodgrass; sister, Christy Fine and father-in-law, Howard Gillespie.

Mike is survived by his wife, Monica Fine of Red Oak, IA; sister, Kathy (Mike) Sattro of Red Oak, IA; uncle, David Stephens of Red Oak, IA; mother-in-law, Jean Gillespie of Red Oak, IA; and sisters-in-law: Sheryl Bissen of Grinnell, IA, and Barb (Erwin) Beals of Houston, TX; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service will be

Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.

Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa

Family and friends may meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. for procession to the cemetery. Family request causal dress.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening, December 6 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.

Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of Mike's arrangements.
