Monte Jay Jespersen, the son of Russell and Charlene (Mathisen) Jespersen was born March 21, 1961 at Atlantic, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 5 days.
Monte was raised in the Exira and Elkhorn areas. On September 19, 1992, he was united in marriage to Deb DeWitt at Atlantic, Iowa. Monte worked in the iron construction business. He made his home in Atlantic and Griswold before moving to Red Oak in 2007. Monte enjoyed fishing and hunting, and especially loved spending time with his children and helping others. He also enjoyed watching football and was a Minnesota Vikings fan.
Monte was preceded in death by his father, Russell and grandparents.
Monte is survived by his wife, Deb Jespersen of Red Oak, IA; four sons: Weston, Austen, Gage and Trey all of Red Oak, IA; three daughters: Carrie Ross of Red Oak, IA, Alexis (Darin) Goehring of Red Oak, IA, and Jamie (Jake) Williams of Red Oak, IA; four grandchildren: Corey and Josie Williams, Cade Lovell and Anika Goehring; mother, Charlene Jespersen of Exira, IA; sister, Paula Ratzlaf of Exira, IA; brothers: Randy Jespersen of Exira, IA, Keith (Vickie) Jespersen of Atlantic, IA, Mitch (Fannie) Jespersen of Snellville, GA and Scott Jespersen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
