Obituary

Nancy Dee Bond was born May 1, 1965 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 47 years, 8 months and 20 days. Nancy was raised in Red Oak and graduated with the ROHS class of 1983. She continued her education in Interior Design at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating with honors. Nancy was united in marriage to Donnie Bond on May 21, 2005 at the Fremont Lutheran Church in Nyman, IA. Over the years, she provided child care in her home while her boys were young, became a CNA, and operated a Child Day Care Center in Red Oak. Nancy earned her real estate license and worked for Jim Hughes Real Estate and M.J. Mortgage Company. Most recently, she worked for West Central Development as a Family Development Specialist. Nancy enjoyed being outdoors, boating, canoeing and taking walks. She loved to take on remodeling and decorating projects with her husband, along with their Sunday afternoon drives. Nancy dearly loved babysitting and caring for her grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn Strickland; father, Dick Strickland; grandparents: Kenneth & Lovina Corbin; and uncle, Clifford Corbin. Nancy is survived by her husband, Donnie Bond of Red Oak, IA; sons: Adam Smith of Red Oak, IA; and Caleb Smith and friend Rebekah Gettler of Atlantic, IA; step-children: Damien Bond and wife Kim of Red Oak, IA; Jesse Bond and friend Edi Royer of Essex, IA; and Calob Bond and friend Melissa Cody of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Kadin Bradley, Dawson, Brody and Nicole Bond; and Aiden and Aspen Smith; brother, Mike Pritchard of McComb, IL; sisters: Jeanne Pritchard and friend Terry Studey of Omaha, NE; and Pam Pritchard of Hurst, TX; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Jim and Marie Bond of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law, Doug Bond and wife Kelly of Red Oak, IA; and sister-in-law, Brenda Strong and husband Dave of Erie, CO; niece and nephews, other relatives and many friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Len Taylor, Officiating Visitation with the family present Thursday evening, January 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home A memorial is being established in Nancy's name. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
