Obituary

Nancy Jane Dalton of Garden City, Missouri was born January 25, 1945 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of John Louis and Margaret Alice (Young) Evans. She departed this life on Saturday, October 7, 2017 surrounded by love and family at the Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 12 days. On November 6, 1993, Nancy was united in marriage to John Paul Dalton in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Nancy was an in home caretaker for the Cass County Community Living, Harrisonville. She was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church, Grain Valley, Missouri. Nancy loved her family and was very involved with her kids and grandkids. She was a 1963 graduate of Red Oak High School where she was a stellar athlete, playing on the state doubles team and voted "Most Athletic" in her senior class. Nancy also competed with the summer swim team at Lake Okoboji, Iowa. Nancy enjoyed playing tennis, sailing, painting ceramics. She cherished spending summers with her family at Lake Okoboji. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John P. Dalton of the home; 5 children, Toni Griffey and husband Duane of Red Oak, Iowa, Joey Waterman of Columbia, Missouri, Wendy Duysen,of Malvern, Iowa, Rob Waterman and wife Virginia of Castle Rock, Colorado, Betsy Todd and husband Hal of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; 2 step-children, Angie Thorup and husband Tim of Garden City, Missouri, Chad Dalton and wife Amanda of Kansas City, Missouri; 27 grandchildren; 5 great-grandsons; 3 brothers, Dave Evans and wife Skip of Evergreen, Colorado, E. John Evans and wife Kim of Santa Rosa, California, Tom Evans and wife Janeen of Wahoo, Nebraska; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held
Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
At the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Red Oak, IA

Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa
