Nicholas Lynn "Nick" Kinser, the son of Kenneth W. and Gloria K. Briggs Kinser was born July 21, 1960 in Seoul, Korea. He died after a brief illness on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, California at the age of 47 years, 2 months and 4 days. Upon his arrival in the United States at the age of five months, Nick was picked up by Gloria and Kenny at the airport in Portland, OR. He was soon to become their adopted son. Nick was raised in Red Oak and in 1978 graduated from Red Oak High School. While in high school he worked at Mondo's and CDS. Nick was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Nick was a student of music for one year at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. In 1979, Nick made his home in Omaha, NE. Later in 1987, Nick moved to San Francisco, CA and worked for Bank of America and Nikko Hotel. Nick was a gifted musician; he had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing along with playing the saxophone. Nick was also a great cook. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ivan and Jeanette Briggs; and Ina Kinser; and nephew, Travis Shearer. Nick is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Gloria Kinser of Red Oak, IA; sister, Lori Shearer and friend Lon Lathrop of Red Oak, IA; nephew, Tyler Shearer of Omaha, NE; grandfather, L.E. Kinser of Red Oak, IA; aunts and uncles: H.L. "Howard" Briggs of Perryton, TX; Arthur "Bud" Briggs and wife Kathy of Red Oak, IA; Carolyn-Mrs. Bill Vanderhoof of Red Oak, IA; Leonard Kinser and wife Sharon of Omaha, NE; Michael Kinser of Kansas City, KS; Deloris Brown and husband Wayne of Corning, IA; and Joan Eyestone of Omaha, NE; along with many cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. At Sellergren Lindell DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Jerry Dietz and Rev.
