Obituary

Pamela Sue King, the daughter of Clifford and Elva (Rossander) Gibson was born August 14, 1950, in Villisca, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kansas, the age of 71 years and 9 days.

Pam was raised in Stanton, Iowa. After graduating from high school she moved to Red Oak, Iowa. On December 27, 1969, Pam married Marty King and they made Red Oak their home, where they were members of Grace Baptist Church. In 1982, they moved to Belton, Missouri, with their children, Angie and Chad, and this is where Brian was born. Pam worked at Belton Family Practice for 22 years as a medical coder and office coordinator. Pam and Marty divorced in July of 2006. Pam was a member of the Open Door Bible Church for over 30 years, where she served as an Awana Cubbies leader, on the Ladies Planning Committee, sang with the choir, and a children's Sunday school teacher. Pam loved the Christmas season, decorating for the holiday, and hosting many parties in her home. She loved to get together with family and friends to play cards and visit. Pam's most enjoyable moments were being with and spoiling her grandchildren.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Adina Gibson; and son-in-law, Galen Carpenter.

Pam is survived by three children: Angela Carpenter of Clay Center, KS, Chad (Jessi) King of Omaha, NE and Brian (Amanda) King of Holden, MO; four grandchildren: Karsten, Remi, Kaden and Kaylee; and sisters: Virginia (Keith) Mathahs of Palm Desert, CA and Eula Kay Wanner of Palm Desert, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
