Ramona Joyce Foes, of El Dorado, Kansas, homemaker, passed away May 24, 2008 at Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 68. Ramona was born June 22, 1939 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Elizabeth Betty Boan. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1956. On July 18, 1968, Ramona and Richard Foes were united in holy matrimony. Among several notable accomplishments, she spent several years overseas as a military dependent wife and eventually served as a residential mayor on Fort Riley, KS. She was a committed representative for the residents of Fort Riley and an outspoken advocate for various facility improvements for the Post. An avid reader, Ramona held a strong interest in world history and family genealogy and enjoyed volunteering as a tour guide at the Custer House Museum on Fort Riley. Ramona dedicated her life to being a loving, supportive wife, a stern yet nurturing mother and loyal friend. Ramona is survived by her husband Richard, of El Dorado, KS; sons: William Isaac of O'Fallon, IL; Robert Isaac of Manhattan, KS; Michael Foes and wife Amy of El Dorado, KS; daughters: Robin Beam of Omaha, NE. and Kellie Foes of Ogden, KS; sisters: Becky Monahan and husband Danny of Ottumwa, IA and Kathy Jones of Ottumwa, IA; grandchildren: Tommy, Phillip, Caitlin, Margaret Isaac; Jillian, Zachary and Dylan Foes; Adam, Chad and Cody Lewis; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; younger brother, William Hood and younger infant sister, Karen Hood. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 19th, at 10:30 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, 509 N 6th St, Red Oak, IA Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev.
