Obituary

Randall Lane Fundermann, the son of Frank J. and Carol Eyer Fundermann Sr. was born November 1, 1961 in Sioux City, Iowa. He passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012, following a courageous seven year battle with cancer at the Immanuel Medical Center, Omaha, NE. Randall lived 50 years, 11 months and 17 days. Randy's earliest childhood was lived in the Anthon, Iowa area. When Randy was in 2nd grade the family moved to Tabor, Iowa. In 1980, Randy graduated from Fremont Mills High School. Following graduation, he began his farming career in the Tabor area. Randy was united in marriage to Phyllis M. Sell on September 14, 1985 in Glenwood, Iowa. In 1990, they purchased and moved to their farm south of Red Oak. Along with crops, Randy also raised hogs. He had a knack for repairing equipment, along with 'fixing' anything else that broke. Randy especially enjoyed when his family gathered for the harvesting and canning of fruit from their orchard's 30 fruit trees. Randy loved to hunt, fish and to ride his motorcycle. Along with farming and for the past 15 years, Randy had worked for UPS as a pre-loader. He attended the Fremont Lutheran Church at Nyman. Randy is survived by his wife, Phyllis Fundermann of rural Red Oak, IA; three children: Ethan Fundermann of Red Oak, IA; Ciera Soukup and husband Levi of Ankeny, IA; and Haley Fundermann of the home; parents, Frank and Carol Fundermann Sr. of rural Red Oak, IA; brother, Frank Fundermann Jr. of Red Oak, IA; sister, Carrie Ramnes and husband Jeff of Omaha, NE; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Fremont Lutheran Church, Nyman, IA Rev.
