Raymond Carl Rydberg's Obituary
Raymond Carl Rydberg, the son of Oscar and Laura Anderson Rydberg was born April 7, 1917 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He died on Friday, July 13, 2007 at Good Samaritan Center, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 6 days.
Raymond was raised on a farm, east of Essex, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Louise Tornholm on February 11, 1942 in Omaha, NE. Raymond entered the U.S. Army on April 20, 1942, serving during WW II. He was honorably discharged on March 30, 1945. Raymond and Louise made their home on a farm, east of Essex. Raymond lived on that same farm for the past 59 years. He was a member of First Covenant Church in Red Oak, serving many years as Trustee and Deacon.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise on December 14, 2005; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Rydberg on September 29, 2005.
Raymond is survived by son, Donald Rydberg of Essex, IA; 2 grandchildren: David Rydberg and wife Amy of Essex, IA; and Becky Estabrook and husband Jonathan of Ankeny, IA; great-granddaughter, Hailey Rydberg; sisters-in-law: Jane Brown of Overland Park, KS and Jane Tornholm of Hendersonville, NC; brother-in-law, Leonard Tornholm and wife Elsie of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
