Richard D. Adkisson, 71 of Shenandoah, Iowa Richard Dean Adkisson, the son of Fred and Opal (Marshall) Adkisson was born September 22, 1944 at Diagonal, Iowa. He passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Shenandoah Medical Center, Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 71 years and 8 days. Richard was raised in the Creston, Iowa area. He later moved to Roseville, Illinois and helped his father working on grain bins and was a truck driver. Richard moved back to New Market, Iowa area in l980. He was an over the road truck driver. Richard loved horses and spending time with his grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Shane Adkisson and a sister, Alice Young. Richard is survived by two children: Shelly Adkisson of Creston, Iowa and Lance Adkisson of New Market, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers: Rollan Adkisson of Illinois and Robert Adkisson of Roseville, Illinois; sisters, Juanita Saville of Arizona and Charlene Chubick of Roseville, Illinois; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Memorials directed to the family. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation services.
