Robert Charles Anderson, the son of Edgar and Adla (Almquist) Anderson was born February 16, 1930 in Stanton, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Accura Healthcare, Stanton, Iowa at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Robert lived his entire life in Stanton. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1947, and began working for the REC. In 1949, Robert opened Stanton Service Station. During his career, the station moved to three locations. Robert was united in marriage to Norma C. Lantz on June 23, 1957, and to this union a son, Eric was born. He continued with the business until 2003, when he turned over ownership to Eric, but even then, Robert was always in the shop helping and giving advice. Robert was also a caregiver, first caring for his mother and then wife, Norma. Robert enjoyed woodworking and his many animals. On July 2, 1989, Robert was united in marriage to Jean Lundgren. He and Jean loved traveling, especially taking bus trips. Robert was a long-time member of the Stanton Chamber and was honored by receiving the Ole Award in 2013. Robert was a member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Robert deeply treasured his family.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Norma on March 6, 1987 and Jean on December 5, 2018, and sister, Kathryn.

Robert is survived by his son, Eric (Shelley) Anderson of Stanton, IA; step-children: Douglas (Peg) Lundgren of Stanton, IA, Michael (Gaye) Lundgren of Stanton, IA and Julie (Bob) Kixmiller of Walnut, IA; grandchildren: Tanner Anderson of Stanton, IA, Ben Ingersoll of Villisca, IA, Beth (Daniel) Frettim of Madrid, IA, Jill (Michael) Sanchez of Lenexa, KS, Dana (Dan) Gazda of League City, TX, Allen (Libby) Lundgren of Winterset, IA, Carole Lundgren (Tim Wade) of Seattle WA, Teresa Lundgren (Tom Small) of Brooklyn, NY, Ben Kixmiller of Johnston, IA and Breanna Kixmiller of Ames, IA; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
