Robert Eugene James, the son of Ronald E. and Cynthia (Malmberg) James, was born August 12, 1950, at Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 21 days.

Robert lived in Shenandoah until the age of eleven when the family moved to Stanton, Iowa. He graduated from Stanton High School and later, entered the U. S. Army on May 11, 1970. After serving during the Vietnam War, Robert was honorably discharged on January 1, 1972. Robert worked on farms for years, and he especially enjoyed working for Doug Lundgren. Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting, along with attending household sales and farm auctions.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis.

Robert is survived by his brothers: Francis James of Stanton, IA and Rex James of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Mission Covenant Cemetery, Stanton, Iowa.
