Roberta Faye Adams, the daughter of Ora and Dorothy (Tull) Johnston, was born June 30, 1935 in Hatfield, Missouri. She passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 26 days. At a young age, Roberta and family moved to Red Oak where she was raised and attended school. Roberta was united in marriage to Ralph A. Cave in 1951 and to this union their son, Michael was born. In 1958, Roberta married Jimmy L. Newlon and they were blessed with a daughter, Wava. Roberta worked at Red Oak Cleaners, and for many years was a cook at the Rainbow Café. On February 17, 1978, Roberta married William D. Adams in Red Oak. She was a longtime member of the Red Oak Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed dancing and fishing. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Adams on April 11, l996; son, Michael Cave; daughter, Wava L. Newlon; brothers: Dwain Johnston and Billy Joe Rhinehart; and sister, Delores Morse. Roberta is survived by daughter-in-law, Kelly Cave of Red Oak, IA and her children Emily, Libby, and Haley; grandsons: Michael Cave and Ian Cave; step-children and grandchildren; brother-in-law, Claude Morse; sisters-in-law: Viola Rhinehart and Rose Ann Johnston; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Gary Walters, Officiating Open viewing on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
