Roberta "Bert" Walford, 82, of Red Oak, Iowa
Roberta Mae "Bert" Walford, the daughter of Maxine Sheets was born May 1, 1940, in Washington County, Iowa, near Keota. She passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 82 years.
Bert was raised in Washington, Iowa, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1958. Soon after graduation, she moved to Red Oak, Iowa. Bert began working at Union Carbide Battery Company and this is where she met her future husband, Wayne. On September 20, 1959, Bert was united in marriage to Wayne Walford in Red Oak. Bert touched many lives by providing in-home childcare for 19 years. In 1984, she started working as an administrative assistant for Barb Ray State Farm Insurance. Bert retired in 2011. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, spending time with her children, and "spoiling the grandchildren!"
Bert was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne on July 21, 2002; and brother-in-law, Mike Collins.
Bert is survived by her children: Kim (Rick) Morgan of Stanley, IA, Kevin (Kim) Walford of Red Oak, IA, and Kerry Walford and girlfriend, Lisa Ward of Council Bluffs, IA; 5 grandchildren: Colin (Jessa) Morgan, Caitlin (Derek) Kuennen, Cody (Melani) Walford, Morgan (Tim) Cash and Loden Walford; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Durst of Independence, MO; and sisters: Kathy Collins of Lake City, IA and Diana Durst of Omaha, NE; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Graveside Service will be held
Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
At Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa
Family and friends may meet at the cemetery for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association
