Obituary

Roger Eldon Smith, the son of Grant and Lois (Brammer) Smith was born July 25, 1955 at Hamburg, Iowa. He passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 19 days. Roger was raised and attended school at Tabor, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Robin R. Garges on July 17, 1977 at Plattsmouth, NE and they lived many years at Tabor. Roger and Robin moved to Glenwood, Emerson and in 2007 moved to Red Oak. He worked in the farming industry, specializing in crop fertilizer until moving to Red Oak and working at the United Farmers Mercantile Coop in the feed department. Roger loved to go fishing and hunting. Roger was preceded in death by his parents. Roger is survived by his wife, Robin Smith of Red Oak, IA; children: Heather (Troy) Schneckloth of Red Oak, IA, Stephanie (Raymond) Drake of Emerson, IA and Wesley (Amber) Smith of Council Bluffs, IA; 10 grandchildren: Devon Smith, Hanna Smith, Dakota Schneckloth, Kenzie Drake, Dezirae Drake, Ebonee Drake, Brooklyn Smith, Grant Smith, Ethan Smith and Emilie Smith; sisters: Cheryl (Albert) Allen of Sidney, IA, Donna (Chuck) Wake of Randolph, IA, Cindy (Frank) McCann of Tabor, IA, Ilene (Bob) Kauffman of Glenwood, IA and Sandra Smith of Council Bluffs, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation and gathering will be held Monday evening, June 16 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are being established in Roger's name. Cremation will follow after the Visitation and Viewing. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
