Ron Williams, the son of Kenneth and Marcella (Albright) Williams was born July 16, 1940 at Griswold, Iowa. He passed away after battling cancer for over four years, on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 27 days. Ron moved to Red Oak with his family when he was two years old, and attended Red Oak schools. On March 19, 1960, Ron was united in marriage to Regena Joann King in Elliott, Iowa and they were blessed with two children: Cheryl and Randy. Ron was an industrial electrician and worked for Union Carbide/Eveready Battery Company for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He was also an electrical instructor at Iowa Western Community College at Clarinda, Iowa. In 1992, Ron worked during the summer for Iowa DNR at Viking Lake State Park, retiring from the DNR after 10 years of service. Ron and Joann loved camping and traveling, even making their RV their home for 20 years. They settled down in Stanton after Ron was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. Ron also enjoyed boating and was a beautiful wood carver. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Williams. Ron is survived by his wife, Joann Williams of Stanton, IA; daughter, Cheryl Hogberg and husband, Doug of Red Oak, IA; and son, Randy Williams and wife, Tami of Ozark, MO; two granddaughters: Mandi Nightingale and husband, Kyle of Sapulpa, OK, and Ali Jo Hogberg of Red Oak, IA; great-grandson, Kade Williams Nightingale; sister, Barb Black; half-sister, Dee Anna Clevenger; and half-brothers: Jim Albright and wife Katy; Kirby Williams and Larry Williams; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Ron's wishes were to be cremated and no services held. Memorials may be directed to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Oncology Department, Heartland Hospice or Montgomery County Relay for Life.
