Rosalea Mellott, the daughter of Bert and Ada (Carver) Fuller was born February 2, 1922 at Waynesville, Missouri. She passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 10 days. Rosalea was raised at Waynesville, Missouri and graduated from Waynesville High School. In 1945, she moved to the Red Oak area and later that year, the Elliott area. Rosalea was united in marriage to Ardeth E. Mellott on May 22, 1948 in Hiawatha, Kansas, and they made their home on a farm near Elliott. Rosalea was a hard worker and took pleasure in farming beside her husband. She enjoyed fieldwork, and caring for their livestock and pets. Rosalea also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, fishing trips to Minnesota, traveling, camping and square dancing with Ardeth. Rosalea treasured her best friend, Mildred Peterson. They enjoyed visiting and traveling together, sharing fun times and supporting each other during serious times. Rosalea was so pleased with her 90th birthday party. She truly appreciated all the friends and family that attended or remembered her with birthday greetings. Rosalea was a member of the Church of Christ in Elliott. Rosalea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ardeth on December 26, 2002; daughter, Mary Ellen Dahl and brothers: Floyd Fuller and Willy Fuller. Rosalea is survived by 2 granddaughters: Angela France, and Debra (Joe) Dahl; 6 great-grandchildren: Tara Dahl, Timothy Clouser, Mary Clouser, Brian Garcia III, Brandon Garcia and Nichole Nelles; 4 great-great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Dahl, Kassidy Young, Kevin Young and Violet Nelles; brother-in-law, Boyd (Marge) Mellott of Bedford, IA; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Mel Smith, Officiating Visitation with the family present on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorials to the Elliott Church of Christ or Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
