Obituary

Rosetta May Abbuhl, the daughter of Henry and Stella Matson Miller was born April 2, 1929 in Culbertson, Nebraska. She passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 29 days. Rosetta grew up in Culbertson, NE and in l946 graduated from Culbertson High School. She worked for the R.E.A. in McCook, NE until 1949 when she moved to Palisade, NE and worked for the Southwest Public Power District. On September 14, 1952, Rosetta was united in marriage to John Julian 'Jack' Abbuhl in Culbertson, NE. They made their home in Palisade for 42 years. Rosetta also worked for 20 years for the ASCS in Trenton, NE. In 1994, Rosetta and Jack moved to Red Oak to be close to their son and his family. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and collecting dolls. Rosetta was a member of the Palisade United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the grandchildren in their activities and sporting events. Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Abbuhl on April 16, 2008; three brothers: Connie, Elmer and Lester, and sister, Florence. Rosetta is survived by her son: Bernard Abbuhl and wife Martha of Red Oak, IA; three grandchildren: Jacob Abbuhl of Ft. Dodge, IA, Jason Abbuhl and fiancee Bonnie Drake of Iowa City, IA and Arinda Abbuhl of Red Oak, IA; two sister-in-laws: Janice Corfman of Brea, CA and Glenda Miller of North Platte, NE; nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Graveside Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Palisade Cemetery in Palisade, NE. Memorials can be made to Palisade United Methodist Church. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
