Ruby Marie Harper, the daughter of Lloyd and Alice (Nelson) Thomas, was born October 8, 1930, near Pilot Grove in Montgomery County, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Arlington Place in Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 94 years, 6 months, and 30 days.

Ruby was raised in the Pilot Grove area. On August 14, 1949, Ruby was united in marriage to Bobbie Harper in Red Oak, Iowa. In 1952, they moved to Newark, Delaware, where they lived for seven years. In 1960, Ruby and Bobbie moved back and made their home on their farm northwest of Villisca. Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak and past member of Faith Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Verna Thomas; husband, Bobbie Harper on May 20, 2010; son, Robert Harper in 1986; brother, Richard Thomas; and great-grandson, Tristen Noll.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Nancy M. Watts of Villisca, IA; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
