Obituary

Ruth Ann Harris, the daughter of Jerold and Nadine (Sexton) Laire was born October 10, 1953 in Red Oak, Iowa. She met her Savior face to face on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 25 days.
Ruth was raised in Red Oak until the age of 14, when the family moved to Canada. She graduated from high school at Broadview, Saskatchewan in 1972, and returned to Red Oak in 1973. Ruth was united in marriage to Phil Harris on February 8, 1974 in Red Oak. For many years, she was the assistant activities coordinator for Red Oak Good Samaritan Society and Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa. Most recently, Ruth worked for Nishna Productions in the auditing department. Ruth loved the Lord, reading her Bible and praying for others was a daily priority. She loved music, especially playing the piano and guitar, along with being the music worship leader in the Assembly of God churches in Red Oak and Macedonia.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Jerold; brothers: Norman and Maurice Richards; brothers-in-law: Thomas Harris and Jerry Chambley, and nephew, Jeffrey Harris.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Phil Harris of Red Oak, IA; children: Misty Huff of Red Oak, IA and Jacob Harris of Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren: Jonathan Dunn, Alexis Huff, Wyatt Huff and Sloan Huff; mother, Nadine (Stan) Richards of Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada; three brothers: David (Elaine) Laire of Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan, Canada; Gary Richards of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; and Aaron Richards of Broadview, Saskatchewan, Canada; sister, Mary Ann (Terry) Sarich of Davidson, Saskatchewan, Canada; sisters-in-law: Blenda  Chambley of Mississippi and Cindy Harris of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law, Byron "Bo" (Sue) Harris of Shenandoah, IA; spiritual mother, Dorothy Beam of Red Oak, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn.
