Sandra Sue Gasson, the daughter of Duane and Arline (Dahl) Orton was born September 14, 1943 at Corning, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 72 years and 5 months.

Sandra graduated from Atlantic High School in 1961 and attended nursing school for a few years. Sandra lived in the Atlantic area, moving to Red Oak, Iowa in the mid 1980's. She enjoyed reading, camping, grilling out and politics. She was a care giver for her father in his later years. Sandra loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Phyllis.

Sandra is survived by her three children: Alan Pierce and wife Jill of Burnsville, MN, Carrie Pierce of Council Bluffs, IA and Angela Pierce of Grovetown, GA; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; sister, Karen Allmacher and husband Paul of Clinton Township, MI; special friend, Ron Gasson of Red Oak, IA; other relatives and friends.

Burial will take place in the Atlantic Cemetery, Atlantic, IA at 2:00 PM
