Sandra Kay Allen, the daughter of Delbert Lee Slater and Kathryn Gayle Wright, was born July 5, 1946 in Red Oak, Iowa. She died April 22, 2011 in Houston, Texas at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 17 days. Sandra graduated with the Red Oak High School class of l964. She furthered her education at Northwest Missouri State University, graduating in l968. Sandra was united in marriage to Richard Bruce Allen on March 2, 1969 in Red Oak, Iowa. She taught high school English for over 25 years in California and Houston, Texas. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Slater; husband, Richard Allen on April 21, 1997; and brother, Dennis Slater. Sandra is survived by her mother, Kathryn Slater of Red Oak, IA; brother, Alden Slater of Red Oak, IA; sister-in-law, Marlene Slater of Red Oak, IA; three aunts, an uncle, cousins and many friends. Memorial Graveside Service will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa. Family and friends may gather at the cemetery for the service.
