Scott Maxell, the son of Marvin and Judy Sellers Maxell was born June 6, 1958 at Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010 in Glenwood, Iowa at the age of 51 years, 8 months and 25 days, after a battle with cancer. Scott was raised in Red Oak, graduating from Red Oak High School in l976. He furthered his education by attending Iowa Western Community College, studying Civil Engineering. Scott was united in marriage to Deb Franzen on November 26, 1980 in the Tabor Lutheran Church at Wallin, Iowa. He had a successful business in farm tiling and terrace construction while in Red Oak. Scott moved to Underwood in l986. During his years in Underwood, Scott was in the home improvement business and later returned to operating heavy equipment. Scott was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed fishing. Scott was preceded in death by his infant sister, Tami. Scott is survived by his spouse: Deb Maxell of Underwood, IA; children: Matt Maxell of Neola, IA; and Lindy Maxell of Underwood, IA; parents, Marvin & Judy Maxell of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Lisa Jones of Red Oak, IA; and Lori Meggison and husband Doug of Glenwood, IA; grandmother, Mrs. Lois Johnson of Red Oak, IA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
