Obituary

Shane Bernard Hans Suchting, the son of Ron and Kathaleen (Carlson) Suchting was born May 28, 1964 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 52 years, 7 months and 21 days.
Shane grew up in Stanton, Iowa and graduated from Stanton Community High School in 1982, as class Salutatorian. He went to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa graduating with a degree in Information Technology. Shane lived in Des Moines, Iowa and surrounding communities all his adult life. At the time of his death, Shane resided in Bondurant, Iowa. Most recently, Shane was a Computer Operations Support Technician for Emerson Company in Marshalltown, Iowa. Shane fought a very courageous battle against cancer for over two years.  He endured drastic surgery and numerous types of chemotherapy treatments. He had a very strong religious belief in his life. Shane was always the fun uncle who bought the noisy gifts for his niece and nephew. He would grin at their mom and dad saying, "Sorry, but I knew they would love them."  Shane was a private person, but once he felt comfortable with you he was very talkative. Everyone who loved him knew there was Shane time and regular time. Shane time usually ran an hour or so behind regular time. We will go forward, lucky to have had our lives touched by Shane.
Shane was preceded in death by his father, Ron.
Shane is survived by his mother, Kathaleen Suchting of Ottumwa, IA; brothers: Steve Suchting and wife Robin and their two children of Sammamish, WA and Scott Suchting and wife Deanne and their two children of Red Oak, IA; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn.
