Obituary

Sherry A. Henneman, the daughter of Lloyd and Eloise (Graham) Brower was born May 7, 1939 in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 19, 2020 at Immanuel Fontenelle in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 12 days.

Sherry was born on May 7, 1939 not long before WWII began. She was loved by her parents Lloyd and Eloise (Graham) Brower. Sherry's father, Lloyd was drafted to serve in the Army during WWII and fought in Europe and was fortunate to have lived through the Battle of the Bulge. During the war Sherry and her mother Eloise lived in Anaheim, CA with Eloise's parents Harry and Gertrude Graham and their youngest daughter Rosie, who was 10 years older than Sherry. Sherry mentioned many times that at her young age she was sheltered from news regarding the war and felt much love during that time.

Sherry graduated in 1957 from Red Oak High School. She was involved in band being a first chair trumpet and receiving many "1" ratings in band contests. She was also in vocal music, a member of Student Council throughout high school, Homecoming Court and Military Ball Royal Court her senior year. Sherry always enjoyed her classmates in the Class of 1957 and attended most all of the class reunions, the last one being the 60 th reunion in 2017. She attended college in Minneapolis to become a Medical Technologist/X-Ray Technician graduating in 1959.

Sherry married Duane Henneman of Clarinda, IA September 26, 1959. They were married just over 27 years and were divorced in 1986. Duane and Sherry moved to Salida, CO soon after being married. That is where Scott Alan Henneman was born August 2, 1960 and Christa Lea Henneman September 12, 1961. Later they moved to Denver, CO and lived there several years before moving back to Clarinda, Iowa in 1972. In 1978 they moved to Omaha and lived there until their divorce.

Sherry worked as a Medical Technologist and X-Ray Technician at Clarinda Community Hospital, Littleton Clinic in Colorado, The Doctor's Building/Clarkson in Omaha and finally retiring at the Cancer Center at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha in 2001 at the age of 62. Sherry enjoyed retirement taking trips with friends and family over the years and visiting her mother Eloise in Lake Havasu, AZ during the winters.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Brower and infant daughter Christa. She is survived by her Mother Eloise Brower of Red Oak, IA who turns age 100 on August 30, Brother Gary (Diane) Brower of Red Oak, IA, Her son Scott (Ruth) Henneman of Omaha, granddaughter Sarah (Tyler) Willson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, grandson Dylan (Timaree) Henneman of Sioux City, Iowa, five great-grandchildren Claire Henneman, Leah Henneman, Dane Henneman, Lillian Willson, Elise Willson. Sherry was a kind soul growing up in Red Oak, Iowa and living in California (during WWII), Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska.

She enjoyed travel and vacationing with son Scott and family taking trips to England, Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Colorado, and many fond memories of trips to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Sherry enjoyed attending the many of her grandchildren's events and was at every family gathering. Sherry loved her family, friends, and co-workers. She loved children, animals, and birds. Sherry was loved and will be missed.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Because of COVID-19 a small celebration of life service with only immediate family will be held on Saturday August 29, 2020 at 11:00am at the Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak, IA and burial at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, IA. The following day will be a celebration of life for Sherry's mother Eloise Brower who will be turning 100 years old.

Memorials are suggested to Kountze Commons at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, Omaha, NE or Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (Camp Carol Joy Holling - Ashland, NE).
