Shirley J. Penry, the daughter of Bert and Olive (Buffon) Penry was born November 28, 1935 at Iowa City, Iowa. She passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 at Red Oak Rehab & Care Center, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 84 years and 12 days.

Shirley lived in Red Oak most of her life. Throughout her working career, Shirley worked at J.D.Oil Café and later at Vista Gardens Care Center for many years. She enjoyed time spent outdoors and her family. Shirley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Francis and Fay; sisters: Elsie Orr, Mary Hammer and Nancy Penry.

Shirley is survived by a sister, Mrs. Laura Anderson of Red Oak, IA; brothers: James Penry and Guy Penry of Red Oak, IA; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Graveside service will be held

Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

At Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa

Family and Friends will meet at the cemetery.

Memorials maybe directed to the family in Shirley's name.
